2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 belong to third Z/28 generation. It is a sport coupe who returned in 2013 after 46 years as part of 5th Camaro generation. With naturally aspirated V-8 engine quickly found its customer base despite the higher price. He is not as fast as Chevy ZL1 but but it is faster than supercharged Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 or Porsche 911 Carerra S.

New Camaro Z/28 threatening redesign but keep naturally aspirated V-8 engine with same manual and automatic transmission used by ZL1. General Motors did not put a time determinant for promotion but it is expected in the second half of 2017 year. Coupe was spied during testing in Nurburgring with full camouflage. It was announced lighter chassis, lightweight wheels (wrapped in Pirelli tires) and plenty of aero features packed in aggressive design with big rear spoiler.

Its main task is to reach and surpass Ford Mustang GT350R who took over the leadership position. Probably this is the reason why is still speculation around the engine as it needs to be quick and agile as GT350R. I have no doubt that the Z/28 has the potential to do this, but the question is competitive price?!

Standard Camaro served as inspiration for 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 but with addition aerodynamic improvements and more muscular lines. On front can notice same headlights and big lower grille seen on ZL1. Outboard of the grille are located two air intakes with massive aero winglets. Together with big front splitter and side splitter furthers the downforce. On the hood does not exist heat extractor seen on ZL1 because naturally aspirated engine so not need extra cooling.

At Nurburgring drive we saw five spoke wheels with split-spoke design. Front wheels are probably 19 inches while rear seems 20 inches. On back side can notice large wing who act adjustable and have three support brackets. Two pairs of exhaust pipes at each end are integrated into rear fascia. Thin taillights comes in LED technology.

2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Interior

Unfortunately, Chevy has not allowed to make interior spy shot. Speculation can be based on an existing model as well as the main competition. General Motors can offer Recaro racing buckets, less sound insulation, thinner glass and carbon fiber accents. Lower ride height will bring a better sense when cornering. High technology is probably going to lead updated MyLink infotainment system with a lot of fun, navigation and connectivity with smartphones.

A third generation started with bad publicity but sometimes the bad marketing can be god marketing. In the test run at the Nurburgring there have been certain problems for which testing is discontinued. Speculated that the problem is caused with the brakes or driver error. The most important thing is that the driver was not injured, but there was no physical vehicle damage.

Very soon the problem will be solved to a promotion that will be in mid-2017 has enough time. The current model starts from $72,305 before options what just means that the new 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 probably going close $80,000 before options.
