Upcoming 2019 Porsche 911 which will mark the arrival of a new generation was spied around Nurburgring in November 9, 2016. That is just a year after first testing session on known circles in Germany base. It hasn’t been long since Porsche 911 reveal mid-cycle facelift but now are already beginning preparations for next generation. They stay competition for Jaguar F-Type and McLaren 570S coupe.
New 2019 Porsche 911 coming with new modular platform and 3.0 L Inline-6 engine as main offer. Next to him will be available stronger options for Turbo and Turbo S trim models and certain hybrid options. Not much is known at the moment but coupe will be more sporty and luxurious interior. Objection can go in the direction losing naturally aspirated flat-six and expensive Turbo models. The presentation should be sometime in 2018 and base price should be very close to 100,000 dollars.
2019 Porsche 911 Spy Shot, Exterior
The good thing about testing that works Porsche, is a little camouflage. It even at this early stage offers plenty of answers on a new design. First look at test mule reveal wider rear track which can mean wider tires. This difference in relation to the current mode make wider rear wheel arches with help of a pair of add-ons bolted onto the body. A detail that many recalls on older 911 race autos. Other changes can be called evolution instead revolution because minor modifications. It include revised all lights (taillights, headlamps and DRLs) with similar shape and size, bumper area and improved cooling system and aerodynamics. Just in case hybrid options body dimension can raise in order to accommodate needs. At end let say that 2019 Porsche 911 will be available in targa and convertible body styles with some unique features for each of Carrera, Turbo and GTS trim models.
2019 Porsche 911 Interior
Most changes in the new generation is expected to cabin. Ironically on them there is at least the information and speculation. Changes inside can begin with more ergonomic button layout on new console, redesigned dashboard, revised instrument cluster and steering wheel. This would be an inspiration might be able to serve Porsche 918 Spyder. Changes continue follow improved seats with new upholstery colors and enhanced customizing options. Also seats include better comfort and support during cornering. Segment technology can also bring larger touchscreen with developed new infotainment system and improved connectivity.
2019 Porsche 911 Engine include a lot speculation
Under current Carrera and Carrera S hood is available turbocharged 3.0 L Inline-6 engine which replace naturally aspirated 3.4 L and 3.8 L. It provide 370 horses and 331 lb-ft of torque in Carrera model and 420 horses and 368 lb-ft of torque in Carrera S. For next generation 2019 Porsche 911 Turbo can keep same turbocharged 3.8 L flat-six engine with 520 horses, while same engine into Turbo S delivers 560 horses. At this point we do not know whether the engineers think in a new engine or report an increase in power for additional 25 horses for Turbo and 30 horses for Turbo S.
World auto media also speculate about all-electric 911 inspired by Mission E concept, but certain limitations into battery technology does not support their claim. On the other hand for promotion there is enough time to change, but my personal opinion is that Porsche use new nameplate for possible EV edition in future. Much more likely is working hybrid combination consist of some flat-four or V-6 (maybe shared with Cayenne and Panamera) and one or more electric motors.
