New 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan led the second generation compact SUV manufactured by Volkswagen. The first generation lasted 10 years and was less than forthcoming generation. It is estimated that during that time sold about 700,000 units.
New Tiguan was presented during last Frankfurt Motor Show but its sales starts in 2016. On the presentation VW revealed the new vehicle longer for 61 mm, 33 mm taller and wider for 30 mm. In circulation will be short and long wheelbase version. Short wheelbase version will be sold only on the European market while long wheelbase version will be sold on European, American and Chinese market. The 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan longer version arrives in the fall.
New platform, smart new look, wide range TSI and TDI engine, 10 percent lower fuel consumption and more interior space will characterize the next generation that will be produced in Volkswagen‘s Puebla plant in Mexico.
2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Exterior, Changes
So far used company Group 5 platform will replace MQB platform which share with Audi Q3. In addition to increasing body dimension, the Tiguan weight will be reduced by 50 kg or 110 pounds. Changes to the exterior make it aggressive and design is similar to the Audi models. If compare it with the current generation you’ll notice lower stance, chopped roof-line and higher belt-line.

2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Interior, Cargo Capacity
The most important thing for cabin is longer body that brings more space for passengers. Cargo capacity also increases for 1.8 cu. ft. and now amounts to 18.4 cu.ft. If you move the last row of seats you get up to 58.5 cu. fr. cargo space. Optional will be offered a third row seat for long wheelbase version. Higher quality materials will not make it competitive Audi, but give new layout. Lower trim models include 5 inches touchscreen and analog gauges while higher trim model include 8 inches touchscreen and 12.3 inches digital gauge cluster.

2017 Volkswagen Tiguan TSI and TDI Engine Option
Drive units will be available in eight engines diesel (TDI) and petrol (TSI) option with Euro 6 standards. Direct injected 2.0 L Inline-4 engines come with turbocharging, start-stop technology and optional 4Motion AWD system. The TSI engine or petrol version will be offered in the range of 123 to 216 horses. Weakest engine will provide acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) for 11 seconds and maximum speed up to 110 mph (178 km/h). Fuel consumption will be about 10 percent better than the current 21 mpg in city and 26 mpg in highway drive. Power is transmitted via a manual transmission with six speed to front wheels as standard. Optional can get automatic transmission with seven speed and Sport mode. Also optional is dual clutch DSG automatic transmission with eight speed and 4MOTION all wheel drive. Towing capacity is 2,500 kg or 5,500 pounds.
The TDI engine or diesel version will be offered in the range of 113 to 187 horses. For Europen market will be offered 2.0 L TDI with highest spec oil-burner. It is the engine that in this way generates up to 237 horses which will make it the most powerful SUV in European A-SUV segment.
2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Release Date and Price
The German company presented its new 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan in September 2015 during the Frankfurt Motor Show. Sales in Europe is moving from the second quarter of 2016 with prices:

Sales in the United States start from the fall of 2016. Six trim models will start with price from $24,890, while two VW Tiguan R-Line trim will start from $28,700.
